Today, we got to pretend we were all surgeon's performing surgery on our contraction patients! We will also be doing these same procedures tomorrow, so please make sure our surgeon's are getting a great meal, and a great nights rest!

Happy back to school!!

2016-2017 

     It has been so great getting to know your children! I have enjoyed them every single day this week, and seeing their personalities come out is the best! We have gone over rules of the classroom, and the rules of the school. Especially Viking Pride. We are going to have a great time practicing and showing what we have learned about Viking Pride with the new student we will be getting tomorrow! Exciting stuff happening and the week isn't over yet!

     Parent's, please don't forget about sending your children to school without addresses for our Flat Stanley's. We cannot send our Flat Stanley's out in the mail if we don't have addresses. Plus, stamps would be awesome for return envelopes for the family and friends we are going to be sending these to. The class last year absolutely loved this project, and loved sharing the mail they received at school! We got some awesome loot!

      Thank you to the parent's who have filled out the necessary paperwork and have already returned it. If you haven't, please fill those out, and have your child bring these to me ASAP because the office really needs these forms.

       Our room is always in need of snacks, sanitizing wipes, Kleenex, and band aids, so if you are at the store, these items would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry we have been taking forever to post something!! We have been learning, learning, learning!! Now, here is a word from our two students!!

Shaelyn: today my class learned how to tell time we even made our own clock in the middle of our floor in science we water plants and plant seeds I enjoyed spending time with my teacher for the year math is vary fun also I like spending time with my friends school is very fun we do very fun things in 2nd grade my favorite subject is math I like adding and subtracting it is very fun I like school I enjoy everything there is to know Mrs. Carrasco is very nice thank you


Kailey: Today I thought that when we made Morial day reiths. They were red,white,and blue. Today this morning we did science and my plant has a sprout!!!
Today was really really really Fun.

Creepy Mrs. Carrasco, and her creepy little friends!

Our first week back was really fun, and exciting! We have been reading the story Anansi, and how he tried to trick turtle into doing all the work. We learned about cause and effect with a spider craft, and we also learned about different types of spiders with spider reports. Before we did this, we needed to get our "spidey senses" from our spider hats that helped us think about spiders!

In Math, we are learning how to exchange bigger units of place value, for smaller units, in order to count down.  We will be finishing up by Monday, review what we have learned so far, and getting ready for report cards! Make sure we get plenty of sleep, and eat "brain food" so we can be energized, and ready for learning!!
